Six major features can be found in the book of Ruth.
Jesus The Amazing grace.
(1) It is one of two books of the Bible named after a woman (the other one is Esther).
(2) It is a book that describes the bitter sorrows and ultimate joys of a godly family in Bethlehem during the chaotic times of the judges.
(3) It gives a picture of God’s plan of redemption (i. e., to bring people back into a right relationship with himself) that also included Gentiles, or those who were not Israelites. During OT times, Gentiles could become part of the Israelite community. This was possible if they showed a commitment to turn from their sin (i. e., their own way, offenses toward God) and if they showed faith in the one true God.
(4) Redemption (i. e., restoration, salvation) is a central theme throughout the book. The kinsman- redeemer role of Boaz is one of the clearest OT illustrations of how Jesus Christ later would pay for our lives and free us from sin at the cost of his own life on the cross.
(5) The most recognized verse in the book is Ruth’s words to Naomi. While still in Moab, she said this to her grieving mother- in- law:“Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God” (1:16).
(6) It gives a realistic picture of life with its struggles and tragedies. It describes how God can turn tragedy into triumph for people who are faithful to him and his purposes
